Music legend talks about his passion for Ferrari and his custom 458 Italia in the latest issue of the Official Ferrari Magazine.
Designed by Centro Stile Ferrari in collaboration with Pininfarina and the engineers from Maranello, the SP12 EC was created as homage to Eric Clapton’s career and his experience as a Ferrari owner. A long time fan of the Ferrari 512 BB, a car that he has owned for some three years, he wanted to see some of the Boxer’s styling cues applied to a new 458. The results: The 458 Italia SP12 EC.
“Embarking on this project was like being in front of a gigantic blank canvas that had to be painted on and that being involved with the birth and development of the SP12 EC was an incredible experience,” said Clapton. “It’s one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done.”
