Red Hook Brooklyn, NY graffiti & tattoo artist, Mr. Kaves bombs & tags an XKR, end-to-end and top-to-bottom.
After announcing the return of a two-seat sports car (F-TYPE) at the New York International Auto Show, Jaguar threw a party in the Meatpacking District to celebrate its sporting past and future. While there were classics on display in front of STK on Little West 12th Street - Series 1 E-Type and C & D-Type racecars – the real traffic-stopper was a new XKR coupe that had been turned into four-wheeled art by Mr. Kaves, above with XKR and with Tracy Morgan & Wyclef Jean. He also created canvasses that decorated STK’s party room.
The conversion of a stock XKR into a graffiti-mobile was done by Mr. Kaves at Picture Cars East in Brooklyn, above, under the watchful eyes of the car’s designer, Ian Callum, left. Not only did he approve of the artistic transformation, he also grabbed a spray can and joined in. The Jaguar Design Director’s signature can be seen on the XKR’s rear fascia, below!
Vintage cars were not the only stars that came out to celebrate with Jaguar. The overflow crowd included automotive and lifestyle media and A-list athletes and entertainers. Actors and musicians included Grammy-winning musician and producer, Wyclef Jean, heavy metal Iron Maiden drummer, Nicko McBrain, above, actor, comedian and 30 Rock star, Tracy Morgan and Boardwalk Empire star, Michael Williams.
